WNF 2014 - Munich
2014 marked the 10th anniversary of the World Nutrition Forum, a premier industry event sponsored by BIOMIN.
Back in the late-90s, Erich Erber had a vision of creating a distinguished event for the feed and livestock industry, where leading professionals, scientists and decision-makers would gather to brain-storm and exchange ideas and strategic prospects on the future. This ambitious vision took off in 2004 with the debut for the World Nutrition Forum in Salzburg.
WNF 2010 - Salzburg
Theme: "The sound of nutrition"
Change is the only constant and management is key to coping with the relentless change. As the Forum heads to Salzburg for the second time, topics focused on the new dynamics shaped by increased biofuels production and improved animal welfare, to name a few. NutriEconomics® is introduced for the first time, in recognition of the need to consider performance in the context of nutrition, economics and the environment.
WNF 2006 - Vienna
Theme: "The future of animal nutrition"
Consumer perceptions of "ethical" animal production especially in Europe, the continued rise in Asian consumption, and how new ingredients such as DDGS are introducing new complexities in feed formulations, were the hot topics discussed in Vienna. Participants also got to experience the thrills of the famous Vienna Ball in the elegant Vienna Opera House as part of the Forum’s social program.
WNF 2012 - Singapore
Theme: "People – Performance – Profit – Planet"
The Forum heads out of Europe and into the dynamic Asian city-state, Singapore. The 4P theme reflects the strong business ethos that is the heart of the host city, as well the forward-looking strategy businesses everywhere would do well to adopt. Thought-provoking discussions on disease resistances, climate change and a breakthrough in fumonisin counteraction were presented at a venue filled with food, fun and a lot of warm sunshine.
WNF 2008 - Maryhofen, Tyrol
Theme: "Achieving peak performance"
Held in the alpine region of Tyrol, the Forum’s theme reflected both the rugged peaks of the Austrian Alps as well as the ever-pressing concern of animal producers—how to attain the best possible performance in the most efficient way. The key message: Performance is more than growth and reproduction, and includes the challenges of legislation, consumer sentiment, economics and the environment.
WNF 2004 - Salzburg
Theme: "The future of nutrition"
Participants gathered from all over Europe, Asia and the Americas in Salzburg brought with them unique local expertise in a global dialogue centered on quality issues in feed, the natural way in modern animal nutrition and regional trends. The Forum debuted against a backdrop of a new virulent strain of avian influenza (H5N1) in Asia, a region that was also experiencing the fastest growth in consumption and income.
